FAQs
Following are some frequently asked questions here at The Kookie Box. Couldn't find your question? Drop us a quick email, and we'll try to get to you ASAP.
1. What sort of ingredients do you use?
We use high-quality ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible.
Some of our core ingredients include:
-
Amul Butter
-
Fresh organic eggs
-
High-quality chocolate
-
Premium quality sugars
-
Unbleached refined flour
We never compromise on the quality of our ingredients, even if it means cutting our profits.
2. Are your products suitable for vegans?
Unfortunately, no.
3. Are your products suitable for vegetarians?
The eggless Kookies are suitable for vegetarians, check carefully before you order.
Unfortunately, Brownies are not suitable for vegetarians, since they contain eggs. Eggless Brownies are a sad, pathetic excuse for the real stuff.
4. Do your products contain nuts?
All our products are made in a kitchen that handles nuts and nut-based ingredients.
Although measures are taken to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot possibly guarantee that any of our products are totally nut-free.
5. Do your products contain soy?
We do not use soy in our kitchen.
However, we cannot guarantee our products are soy-free as there may be a presence of soy [especially soy lecithin] up the supply chain i.e. the chocolate.
6. Do your products contain peanuts?
All our products are made in a kitchen that handles peanuts and peanut ingredients.
Although measures are taken to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot possibly guarantee that any of our products are totally peanut-free.
7. Do your products contain wheat or gluten?
Almost all our products contain wheat flour as a core ingredient. Although refined, wheat flour still contains gluten.
If you’re looking for a gluten-free option, we have 100% gluten-free Almond Oatmeal Kookies (coming soon). You can also check out our sister brand Fourmet Co.
8. Are your products suitable for diabetics?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Yes, but in small amounts. Like only one Kookie or one Brownie in a single day.
We advise all diabetics to consult with their physician/diabetologist/dietitian/nutritionist before consuming.
9. Do your products contain alcohol?
Our flavourings, especially vanilla extract, contain alcohol as their solvent/carrier.
But don’t worry — the alcohol evaporates. The flashpoint for alcohol is 20C, whereas we bake our products at 170 - 220C.
Thus, alcohol is present in name only.
10. Are your dairy and eggs pasteurized?
The dairy components are pasteurized during manufacturing since we use Amul dairy products.
The eggs get pasteurized during the baking process.
There are no raw dairy or eggs present whatsoever.
11. Where can I buy your products?
You can buy our products from the comfort of your home/residence/office.
Our products are exclusively available through this website.
As of now, we’re only available in Pune city. We’re working to get our products to our fans in other cities.
For more details, check our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
12. How do I store my Kookies?
Once you receive your order, transfer the Kookies to an airtight jar/container.
Why airtight containers? So that the Kookies do not get soggy on contact with air [they absorb moisture present in the air].
Store the Kookies at room temperature in an airtight container, and consume them within one week.
Store your airtight container in the fridge and the Kookies will last for 3-4 weeks.
Wrap them in 2 layers of plastic wrap and store them in the freezer for 3 months. Don’t forget to warm them in the oven [not the microwave] before you eat them.
PS: We’re working towards individually packaged Kookies with an improved shelf life. Stay tuned.
13. How do I store my Brownies?
Once you receive your order, set aside the number of Brownies you wish to eat.
Transfer the remaining Brownies to an airtight container and stick it in the fridge. They last 3-4 weeks in the fridge.
Why airtight containers? So that the Brownies do not catch the strong odours from other foods in your fridge.
Wrap the Brownies in 2 layers of plastic wrap, followed by a layer of aluminium wrap and a plastic bag to freeze them. When wrapped this way, the Brownies last for 3-4 months in the freezer.
Thaw the frozen Brownies at room temperature overnight, and warm them in an oven [not the microwave] before you eat.
PS: We’re working towards individually packaged Brownies with an improved shelf life. Stay tuned.
